Czy to jest "do", czy "na" USA? These two Polish preposistions and their use is a very difficult part of learning Polish :?

in what context though? You could use both depending on what you're trying to say.

"Lecę do USA w maju" -> "I'm flying to the US in May"
"Na USA nałożono sankcje" -> "Sanctions were imposed on USA"

I'm guessing you're talking about direction though, right? I don't know if there is a general rule, unfortunately. Although when talking about countries, you use "na" with Hungary (na Węgry), islands ("na Majorkę", "na Kretę", "na Grenlandię", "na Karaiby") except New Zealand (Nowa Zelandia), and that's all I can think of right now. With everything else you would use "do". I think.

Hi Seraph, thanks for your answer. You're right, I was indeed thinking about direction, but your 2nd example is interesting. These two preposistions , "do and na" really are a nightmare for a learner of Polish, a bit like iść and chodzić, and jechać and jeździć. I've recently bought a book called : Iść czy Jechać ?, written by a Pole for foreign learners of Polish. That's how complicated it is. A whole book dedicated just to verbs of motion, but that's another matter!
Thanks again for your answer :D
