Deutschen Jungvolk Miniature Proficiency Badge (Leistungabzeichen des DJ) by Eugen Schmidhäussler of Pforzheim (M1/128).

Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach instituted the Leistungabzeichen des Deutschen Jungvolk (Proficiency Badge of the German Young People) on September 26th, 1935 as a means to promote physical fitness in children between the age of 12 and 14. Criteria for the award included the completion of a list of prescribed tests including military like training exercises and political indoctrination. This badge was issued in one grade only and was discontinued in 1944.

This badge was die struck from a zinc alloy and finished with a dark gray burnished wash. The design features a single sig-rune with a small swastika in the center surrounded by the phrase "Für Leistungen Im D.J." (For Proficiency in D.J.). The reverse features a spring pin fastened with an oval plate, a faint RZM circle, and Schmidhäussler's code "M1/128" which is stamped on the right side of the pin. The stamp is very faint and can only be seen with a jeweler's loop.
